Welcome to this blog

Dear visitor,

Welcome — I’m glad you found your way to my website. Not much to say about me: I’m an editor by day, programmer by night, and as of recently, I’m quite amazed by the possibilities that open up as you learn how to manipulate code.

I’ve always been fascinated by computers and over the years this obsession has led to several websites (for myself and friends), some coding projects, but most of all a large supply of tech gadgets. Then during the 2020 lock-down I joined that part of the population who tried to cope with the monotonous new normal by teaching themselves new skills. I finally caught up with computer science classes (thank you for getting me started, CS50!) and began to learn coding in earnest, mostly Python and C.

The foundation for all this was laid by my first Raspberry Pi, which I bought at some point in March 2020. The rest of the story will probably be familiar to a lot of people. Needless to say, the number of Raspberry Pis in my home has increased to 5 in the meantime. The reasons for this may be found in various blog posts.

There are tons of other RPi helper websites out there, as well as guides to programming, and I am hugely indebted to all of them. With this blog I’d like to give back to the community by perhaps solving one or two issues myself. Or at least by keeping the discussion going – and the fun!
